What you’re about to watch is a genuine Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial on 16mm film — except it’s barely a film anymore. Years of vinegar syndrome have shrunk and warped this reel so severely that our scanner couldn’t even hold a stable image. The result is something that looks more like a fever dream than an advertisement for fried chicken.
Is it unwatchable? Some will say yes. Will some of you tell us we should have just thrown it away? Absolutely. Will others demand we take it down? Probably.
But we believe damaged history is still history. This is what film death looks like — and we think you should see it.
