The film tells the story of Peter, a young boy who is motivated to help save his church’s youth director’s job by organizing his friends to raise $600 through pledges. Initially, Peter gets caught up in a romantic pursuit with a new girl named Celia, which leads him to neglect his responsibilities and spend money he had pledged. Through a conversation with his grandfather and father, Peter learns a valuable lesson about Christian stewardship and the true meaning of possessions. He realizes his mistake, sells his tuxedo to help cover his pledge, and encourages his friends to fulfill theirs, ultimately ensuring the youth program is saved.
