Lena The Glassblower (Sweden) 1981
Lena, a 17-year-old girl from Stockholm, is learning the ancient craft of glass blowing in Sweden’s “Kingdom of Glass.” She works at the renowned Ora Forch Glassworks, where she aspires to become one of the first female master glass blowers. Despite her passion for glass making, Lena faces pressure from her parents to pursue a university education instead. They struggle to understand her dedication to the craft, even after visiting her workplace and witnessing the artistry involved. Lena hopes to convince them to support her decision to stay and continue her apprenticeship, despite the challenges she faces, including a recent fire at the factory.
