This 1940s home movie follows a car driving down a desert road, passing a Keep to Right sign and the State Quarantine Station. The car travels up a mountain road, past the Coolidge Dam and San Carlos Lake. The movie then shows a woman walking through a desert full of saguaro and nopal cacti, past a memorial plaque for Charles Churchill Small, and then past a tourist attraction with a burro and novelty figures. The car then continues down a desert highway and follows a river up to the Grand Canyon, where tourists watch a performance of Native American music and dance. The movie also takes viewers on a journey through desert canyons, showing views of mountains, rivers, dams, aqueducts, tunnels, Native American artifacts, and a fire burning in a fireplace. Finally, the movie shows a long stretch of highway in the desert, passing by a painted sign, a Santa Claus sign, and a tree standing alone in the desert. A pageant with floats and marching bands, with people in traditional attire and costumes. Women pose on floats, waves, and smiles as they pass the crowd. There are also scenes of nature, with flowers, cacti, and mountains. A man is seen picking berries in a garden, and a few people are seen at an ocean. There is also a view of a coal mine, a train, and a mine entrance. Lastly, there is a church, a hotel, and a museum.
