Evan’s Corner (1969)
Evan longs for a personal space in his shared family apartment. He chooses a corner with a window and polished floor, wanting it to feel like his own. Initially content with his setup, including a picture and furniture made from crates, he realizes he needs a pet to complete his space. After working to earn money, he buys a turtle. Despite having a corner to himself, Evan feels something is still missing. His mother suggests that helping others might bring him happiness, prompting him to consider stepping out of his corner.
