The Trio (1953)
“The Trio” is a film from 1953, directed either by Irving Reis or Jules Dassin, that captures the performances of three legendary musicians of the 20th century—cellist Gregor Piatigorsky, violinist Jascha Heifetz, and pianist Artur Rubenstein. This 30-minute piece is noted for being one of the rare surviving examples of early television broadcasts featuring landmark musical performances.
