The Story of Stock Library Can VJVKVL (silent)

The sun was just starting to set as the boy and the older man sat on the dock, fishing poles in hand. They had been there for a while, casting their lines into the water, chatting idly. Suddenly, the older man set his pole aside and motioned for the boy to hand him his bamboo fishing pole. The boy eagerly handed it over, and the man deftly tied a line to the end of it.

As they continued to fish, the man’s attention was drawn to a fishing net being reeled in by a nearby ship at anchor in the harbor. The boy watched in wonder as the catch was brought on board. It was then that a fishing boat, the Oliver H. Smith, turned in the harbor and pulled up next to the dock.

The man quickly baited his fishing pole and cast the line into the water as the boat was unloaded. Portholes and boat controls were in plain view as the boy chatted with a man who was moving a reel for drying fishing nets. The fishing boat was at anchor in the harbor at sunrise the next day, with men loading a fishing net onto a boat. A man on the dock held a sheet of paper and pointed, while another man removed line from the dock. The man untied a rope, and the Oliver H. Smith pulled away from the dock, fishing nets drying on reels.

Days later, the boy carried a bamboo fishing pole down a back street, passing a dock with row boats. A man carrying fishing gear stopped to talk to the boy, who had a long fishing pole. The boy pointed towards the water, and the two set down their gear.

The Oliver H. Smith was still on the boy’s mind as he watched it navigate the harbor from a distance with a group of men. A man helped guide a fishing net onto a pulley while the boy watched in awe. The net came off the pulley, and the man replaced it while the boy turned on a faucet. The man then installed a television antenna, and they all sat down to watch the news.

Years passed, and the scene changed. The boy was now a young man, walking down a sidewalk and throwing newspapers as a mailman waved a bundle of letters and called out to him. A panel van stopped at an intersection, and cube trucks passed by. The young man waved at them, threw a newspaper, and continued on his route.

He approached a mailman holding a bundle of letters, and they talked briefly before the mailman walked off. The young man then approached another boy delivering newspapers, who wrote on his notepad. They exchanged papers, and the young man continued on his route. A milkman gave him a box of butter, and he handed it off to a woman holding a bottle of milk. She went inside, and the young man held his newspaper and ran off.

The scene then shifted to the 1970s, with clouds moving across the sky as a man held a bunch of balloons in a park. He separated two of the balloons and gave them to two girls before doing the same with a boy and a girl. The man picked up the strings and watched the sunset over a line of trees.

In the 1980s, a grey squirrel walked across a lawn, searching for food, while shadows were cast by trees. The squirrel found a peanut and started to eat. A ground squirrel was in the grass, and a grey squirrel climbed down a tree, sat on the ground, and then ran across the grass. A small bird hunted in the underbrush of a shrub, while a goldfinch sat in the branches of a tree. The silhouette of a blue jay perched on a pine tree was visible in the background, and an American robin perched on a branch
