The Promise (1982)

A young girl named Amy has always wanted a puppy. When she turns 10, her parents agree to let her have one if she saves half the money. She takes various jobs to earn the money but learns that caring for a pet is a significant responsibility. Amy is given the opportunity to take care of Mr. Flynn’s guide dog, Princess, while he is in the hospital. Although she initially enjoys the responsibility, she eventually neglects Princess, leading to her disappearance. After a difficult search, Amy learns the importance of keeping promises and the responsibilities that come with pet ownership. In the end, she finds Princess and realizes the true meaning of love and responsibility towards animals.
