Roman Wall (1956)

Emperor Hadrian ruled the Roman Empire at its peak in AD 117, advocating for consolidation rather than further expansion. He constructed Hadrian’s Wall in Britain, marking the northern boundary of Roman rule. The wall, built of stone and approximately 80 Roman miles long, featured forts, mile castles, and turrets for defense and communication. Roman soldiers, skilled in various tasks, constructed the wall and its associated structures, which included barracks, granaries, and roads for troop movement and supply transport. Today, remnants of the wall and its features still exist, symbolizing the enduring legacy of the Roman Empire.
