Recorded Live (1975)
This animated short uses surreal humor and visual metaphor to depict a young man’s anxiety and powerlessness during a job interview at a television station. What begins as a typical application quickly turns strange as a massive, living mound of videotape springs to life. The tape creature chases the interviewee through hallways, entangles him in its coils, and ultimately absorbs him completely—an unsettling allegory for the overwhelming nature of media, technology, or corporate culture.
