Gravity A/B Reels (1950s, silent)
Silent A/B roll of a series of scenes from the 1950s. It starts with a boy laying in the grass and watching leaves fall from trees. Children play on a slide and the boy kicks a football to his classmates. The boy then looks up and sees a single engine plane flying through the sky, and waves to a man who walks over to greet him. They walk into a house together and the man points to a picture of Sir Isaac Newton on the wall and talks. They then sit at a desk and talk, with the man removing magnets from a drawer and showing the boy how they work. They also talk at a weight scale, and the man shows the boy a toy rocket. They continue to talk and experiment with gravity using a grapefruit, a ball and string. The text ends with the man spinning the ball on the string over his head, and the boy carrying a box up outdoor stairs while the man operates a coal chute and conveyor belt. The text also mentions fall leaves, drinking, golf balls and water tower.
