Set at the Seattle World’s Fair, this film is about the Bell System’s new technologies for communication in the 21st century. It explores the possibilities of automated dialing, direct distance dialing, solar batteries, and an electronic central office that can think for itself. It highlights the convenience of having frequently called numbers stored in a memory and the ability to transfer calls to other locations. It also explores the potential of using the telephone to control appliances remotely.
