Power For Peace (1952)

Review of the events leading up to the establishment of NATO, tracing the story of how the Western nations disarmed at the end of the Second World War (while at the same time Stalin kept the Soviet Union armed) and then took up arms once more, in the common aim of securing the peace – through strength. Generals Eisenhower, Montgomery and Juin are shown, as they help to organise and build up the NATO forces, with help from the Mutual Defence Assistance Programme.
