In this educational short film, two students named Susie and Bill are preparing their classroom for a Halloween open house when they begin hearing a mysterious voice emanating from the school’s loudspeaker. The voice, claiming to be the building itself—nicknamed “LM”—begins a conversation with the children to explain how years of careless behavior have caused it physical pain and degradation. Through a series of examples, such as crayon marks on walls, carved desks, and clogged drains, the school teaches the children how small, thoughtless actions accumulate into significant damage. The children respond by creating a comprehensive list of rules to help their classmates treat the school with respect, ultimately learning that preserving their environment is a shared responsibility that saves money for better school resources. The film concludes with the reveal that the school custodian, Mr. Dylan, had been using the loudspeaker to deliver the message, leaving the students inspired to take better care of their building.
