Sound And How It Travels (1963)
In “Sound And How It Travels,” Sue and Steve enjoy their beach vacation while exploring the nature of sound. They learn that all sounds are produced by vibrations, which move through air, water, and wood. Through experiments with a guitar, seashell, and various materials, they discover how sound travels and how its pitch changes with the length of the vibrating object. The film concludes with Sue taking home a seashell to remember the sounds of their vacation.
