Rise And Decline Of The Roman Empire (Revised, 1980)
This film traces the development of Rome from a group of early tribal communities to a mighty empire which embraced a large part of the western world, as well as the invasion and looting by barbarian tribes in 476 which brought about its decline. Authentic settings and realistic reenactments were photographed in France, England, the Near East, Rome and Ostia.
