Movie Memories

Follows the development of film technology from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. It showcases the invention of the film camera and projector, the polyscope and kinetoscope machines, the vitascope, and other technological advancements. It also documents the use of the film in popular culture such as the Music Hall and the Black Mariah. It shows how film was used to tell stories, create suspense and excitement in the audience, and how it was popularized by giving out samples of the film on the streets. It culminates in the invention of the electric theater in 1908.
