Lake Of Perch (1981)
Animated. This film documents the cyclical life within a lake through the changing seasons. It begins in autumn, highlighting the abundant oxygen produced by water plants which supports the fish, emphasizing the need for them to eat heartily before winter. As temperatures drop, the plants decay, plankton diminishes, and fish, being cold-blooded, slow down or hibernate, like frogs and carp, to survive the colder months. During winter, under the ice, life becomes scarce and the fish struggle to find food, with the old and weak perishing. Spring’s arrival brings warmer temperatures and renewed activity, as hibernating creatures awaken and plant life flourishes. By summer, the lake is teeming with life, with dense aquatic vegetation providing shelter and sustenance for various fish species.
