Jeff’s Company (1972)
The film features a conversation between a young boy, Jeff, and his parents about his desire to attend a fall roundup with his cousins. Jeff feels lonely living in the countryside and longs for social interaction with peers. His father is reluctant to take him, believing that he doesn’t need friends as he grew up without them. The tension between Jeff’s desire for companionship and his father’s traditional views creates a conflict, but Jeff remains hopeful for the future when he can organize his own roundup.
