Her Indian Hero (1912, silent)

The Chief’s son, Silver Water, comes back from college and is welcomed with a celebration by the tribe. Hal Benton, an easterner, arrives shortly afterwards and, upon getting permission from the Chief, brings his friends the next day to witness the festivities. Veda Mead, Hal’s fiancĂ©e, and Silver Water quickly form an attraction and he promises to meet her again the following day. When Silver Water appears, he is wearing full war-paint and feathers, and reminds Veda of the promises she made to him. She cries out, and Hal appears. Silver Water demands that Hal fight him for Veda, and when he obtains the knife, he kills Hal and takes Veda away to his camp. Just as Veda is about to be killed by Morning Star, Hal’s spirit wakes her up, revealing that Silver Water is really standing on the veranda in proper evening attire. Silver Water realizes that he cannot win Veda, so he tears up her card and returns to his sweetheart, Morning Star, having learned the white man’s ways.
