Ashlad And His Good Helper (1968)
The story follows Ashlad, the youngest of three brothers, who sets out to build a magical ship that can travel on land, sea, and air to win the hand of a princess and half a kingdom. Despite his brothers’ doubts, Ashlad receives help from a mysterious old man, leading him to successfully construct the ship. Along the way, he gathers a group of quirky companions, including Hungry Men, Whis Away, and Hot and Cold. They face various challenges set by the king, including consuming a massive storehouse of meat and retrieving water from the world’s end. Ultimately, Ashlad outsmarts the king and wins the princess, leading to a joyful ending.
