Acids Bases And Salts (1959)

Surveys the early theories of Arrhenius and later theories f Brensted, Lowry, and Lewis. Uses the Arrhenius or classical definition of acids, bases, and salts to explore the properties and use of the chemical compounds whose water solutions contain ions. Shows the important properties of an acid, a salt, and a base, the household and industrial uses of each, and the ways in which they are prepared commercially and in the chemistry laboratory.
