I’ll Fix Anthony (1991)
This film is a poignant portrayal of sibling rivalry and the longing for maturity, as a younger child fantasizes about the day they turn six. On their sixth birthday, they imagine themselves possessing all the skills and advantages their older brother, Anthony, currently holds over them. This fantasy includes being stronger, smarter, braver, and more popular, finally allowing them to assert dominance and “fix” their older sibling. The film captures the universal childhood desire to grow up quickly to overcome perceived injustices and gain independence.
