King Rollo And The Birthday (1979)
In this charming story, King Rollo decides to send Queen Gwen a birthday card and buys the best one he can find at the shop. However, Cook suggests that a handmade card would be more meaningful. Though King Rolo insists he can’t draw, Cook encourages him to try. With help from the magician and several failed attempts, King Rollo finally creates a card featuring Queen Gwen on a horse. Though he feels it isn’t as good as the store-bought one, he sends it anyway. At the party, Queen Gwen is delighted with the card, calling it “very special” and appreciating its uniqueness—proving that effort and personal touch matter more than perfection.
